The Irish Pilgrimage Trust is a registered charity No. 5992 in Ireland. The Trust receives no public or state funding and relies fully on private donations and fundraising.
Each year, at Easter, The Trust bring around 500 young people with special needs on a pilgrimage / holiday to Lourdes. All our volunteer carers pay their own fares and fundraise for our young guests. The Trust is run by a Board of volunteer Trustees,
The Trust also organise an annual pilgrimage in June to Hosanna House in Bartres, a small village close to the town of Lourdes. This pilgrimage/holiday caters for adults with special needs. The Irish Pilgrimage Trust opened a respite house, Kilcuan, in Clarinbridge Co Galway in 1998 and in 2010 a second home, Cois Cuain, in Kilrane near Rosslare Harbour and welcomes groups and families there all year round.
Every two years a group of almost 140 cyclists cycle from the north of France to Lourdes - a different kind of pilgrimage to the Grotto. This is a major fundraising event for the Trust. The next Lourdes Cycle takes place in France from 19th to 25th March 2016.
